Required Experience & Education
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
2 years experience in Human Resources preferred
At least 2 years experience hiring and/or supervising staff
Schedule & Time Commitment
Galileo asks for a 3 year minimum commitment
Regular office hours, as well as weekend and evening work
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Team & Company Leadership
Act as the face of Human Resources to the organization and champion/representative of Galileo’s attitude toward staff; maintain a high level of approachability, warmth, accountability, and demonstration of service-leadership.
Serve as a member of the Recruiting Leadership Team, acting as a resource to all team members, regardless of direct supervision. Act as an excellent role model of Galileo philosophy and standards, and of all team expectations.
Human Resources & Administration (Home Office & Summer Staff)
Support Home Office staff professional development: create and manage annual calendar; schedule classes, training and speakers as necessary.
Maintain Home Office Google calendar: holidays, home office events, staff birthdays, etc.
Publish home office survey on a trimesterly basis; ensure that employees complete surveys in a timely manner.
Manage benefits process for Home Office staff: field all incoming questions regarding benefits, complete employee paperwork at hire and termination. Ensure all legal requirements and compliance are followed.
Manage payroll process for Home Office and summer staff: create systems for use by Camp Directors and hiring managers; oversee payroll systems, including data upload, paperwork verification, direct deposit and check delivery; run payroll for Home Office (year-round, temporary, seasonal and Camp Director) staff every other Friday year-round, and for all summer staff during the summer months.
Manage worker’s compensation claims process: field incoming inquiries from Home Office and c& work with hiring managers, Camp Directors, and staff regarding appropriate steps and processes; provide resources and manage claims and workers comp vendor as necessary.
Support Home Office hiring process as needed, including but not limited to posting, outreach and interviewing.
Onboarding
Prepare for, manage, and execute Home Office onboarding process: set up onboarding process, work closely with hiring managers, manage and track completion of all steps of the Home Office onboarding process.
Prepare for, manage, and execute Camp Director onboarding process: paperwork, online training, etc.
Prepare for, manage, and execute summer staff offer letter process: lead offer template review and edit; send offer letters; interface with Camp Directors regarding offer questions/issues.
Prepare for, manage, and execute summer staff onboarding process: vendor management; resource review and creation; candidate communication template creation; systems analysis and maintenance; online and in-person training coordination; follow up with candidates regarding completion of onboarding; follow up with Camp Directors as necessary.
Manage staff training onboarding-related tasks: resource and tool creation for Camp Directors; management of onboarding processing at staff training.
Other
Support preparation for summer staff hiring launch as necessary including, but not limited to: position descriptions, application development, and seasonal recruiting team training
Other duties may be assigned to meet the needs of Galileo or the Recruiting & Human Resources Department
Classification & Compensation
Year-round, full-time employee
Base and bonus potential to be discussed during interview.
