They are a social data-platform used by companies and researchers to aggregate, filter and create insights from billions of public Tweets, Posts and Blogs.
They have exclusive access to 250+ million Tweets every single day including 40+ meta-data fields that be filtered upon.
They are well-funded and use their own technology to create social insights into the news.
Our employee base is growing quickly and we need a knowledgeable HR professional to lead multiple HR functions in a fast-paced environment. With an initial focus on recruiting, this position will also be responsible for establishing and maintaining all benefits programs, ensuring compliance with local, state, federal, and UK employment laws, creating processes and structure to aid the company in its effort to scale, and directing the development of corporate culture. As a one-person department, this position will play a critical role in Company growth. It will serve offices in both San Francisco and the United Kingdom so travel will be required.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
Build and implement a recruiting program to double the company size in the next 12 months
Provide leadership, direction, and partnership to management team. Establish and maintain partnerships with all staff through effective counsel on HR matters
Create an employee performance evaluation program
Coach and advise managers through all aspects of performance management including setting job accountabilities and goals, delivering performance appraisals, and performance improvement counseling.
Support positive employee relations by conducting proactive interventions. Foster an environment in which employees can comfortably discuss job-related problems and investigate and resolve complaints in a timely manner
Collaborate with management to build staff development and retention plans
Consult with management to assess and identify training needs and employee development programs
Conduct research on industry/geographic compensation trends
Generate policies and procedures that improve structure and process
Develop and implement programs aimed at optimizing employee morale, communication, and teamwork.
Participate in the planning and coordination of employee activities, programs, and events.
Manage all benefit programs and related individual employee issues
Other duties as assigned
Bachelors degree in Human Resources or a related field
10-12 years experience as an HR Manager, preferably working in both large and small organizations
Proven success in coaching and advising managers, managing performance, resolving employee relations issues, recruiting staff, planning and delivering training programs, and administering benefits including leaves of absence (PDL, FMLA, CFRA)
Knowledge of UK, federal, state, and local employment laws and a desire to stay up-to-date on changes to such laws
Willingness to take on a variety of new tasks as required by an evolving business
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to remain professional, yet approachable, in an informal and creative work environment
PHR/SPHR certification preferred
Experience working with HR software and recruiting databases preferred
Ability to travel internationally on a frequent basis
