Responsible for overall Human Resources functions of the Auburn Hills campus. Implements corporate initiatives at site including compensation/benefits. Supports the facilities with staffing, recruitment, develops implements and coordinates policies and programs.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
1.Manages staffing and recruitment efforts within the plant including internal and external postings. Works with corporate recruiting group to fill exempt level positions. Works with local colleges and universities on internship programs. Coordinates on-boarding activities for new hires.
2.Works with corporate HR or designees and the plant management team to develop programs, policies, procedures and controls within the plant. Works with managers and employees on organizational changes, problems, disciplinary actions, grievance procedures and policy interpretation.
3.Maintains Affirmative Action plan for Auburn Hills including AAP reports and activities. Works with outside counsel to prepare the annual AAP plan for the facilities.
4.Manages training and development at all levels within the facility. Assists Department Heads to identify training needs. May develop, conduct and monitor training.
5.Analyzes and reports on various employment statistics such as EEO, turnover, safety, wellness, etc.
6.With the assistance of the Corporate Compensation group, manages the compensation programs for wage and salary positions. Works with managers on performance appraisals, merit reviews, bonus plans etc. Participates in local wage surveys as required, assists in determination of competitiveness of local salaries in comparison with local data.
7. Works with employees, Third Party Administrators including Business Solver, Fidelity, and Met Life, and Molex Benefit Department representatives to resolve employee benefit issues.
8.Works with local facilities management on employee communication programs including staff meetings, quarterly business meetings, and annual all employee communication meetings.
9.Manages and supports employee activities including TERP initiatives, Wellness, Recreation and other special activities.
10.Maintain a safe work environment and good housekeeping practices. Works with Workers Compensation carrier to provide a safe environment. Investigates and handles any Workers Compensation claims at the location.
11.Actively support Lean/Six Sigma initiatives and programs.
12.Understand, support and contribute to current Molex Quality and Environmental systems by following stated policies and procedures.
13.Perform other related duties as assigned by management.
14.Implement corporate initiatives as required including Ethics training and EICC compliance.
15.Ensures fairness of workplace practices, procedures and discipline as a means of facility union avoidance.
SCOPE: Works independently and in teams. Works with entire employee population in Auburn Hills as well as Corporate teams and outside representatives. Requires good decision making skills and creative problem solving ability.
REQUIRED: BA/BS degree in Training and Development, Human Resources, Quality Sciences or related field or equivalent experience.
PREFERRED: PHR or SPHR certification
REQUIRED: 3 years’ experience working in Human Resources Through knowledge of employment law and employment practices.
PREFERRED: Three years prior experience managing a Human Resources department.
SKILLS & ABILITIES:
REQUIRED: Good oral and written communications skills. Ability to work with a variety of people at all levels and in various situations. Competent with Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
PREFERRED: Prior experience with Kronos time keeping system.
