Professional Community Management of CA, Inc. (PCM) is seeking a Full Time Human Resources Manager to join our growing team . Coordinates, organizes, and schedules all human relations and related functions; implements HR strategies and programs INCLUDING driving business culture and company policies and initiatives lead by our CEO, our COO and ALL executives including our parent company ASSOCIA and having a working relationship with our CEO, COO and executives including supervisors, Director level managers, On-site GMs, VPs and SR VPs. Supervision is exercised over the HR Generalist, Safety and Worker Compensation Specialist, Benefits Administrator, Recruiter, and Payroll Administrator. Other positions may be added based on company need. Work involves regular contact with ALL employees, in-house counsel at ASSOCIA, executives, CEO, COO, regulatory agencies, and 3 rd party service providers and consultants. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: · Organizes and oversees a variety of Human Resources activities; confers with the appropriate executive concerning objectives, new or revised policies, operating problems and matters affecting other departments and divisions; implements new programs and procedures in accordance with established objectives. · Maintains knowledge of and expertise in a variety of HR practices, and procedures. Identifies recommends and implements HR best practices; conducts external benchmark studies. Recommends changes in HR policies and programs to maintain competitive advantage, support organizational culture and attract talent. · In conjunction with the executive team, and approved by the CEO and COO, is responsible for discipline/grievance processes, including counseling of employees, investigations, mediations and arbitration support, and monitors employment-related lawsuits and claims, which include State and Federal claims (EEOC & DFEH). · Responsible for administration of leaves of absence including FMLA, CFRA, PDL and workers’ compensation, as well as ADA accommodations. · Prepares, or directs preparation of, responses to unemployment insurance claims and represents company at such hearings. Oversees termination processes to guarantee that proper procedures are followed and to ensure that employees do not have EEO or other legal claim. Conducts exit interviews as deemed advisable and resolves employee complaints. · Works effectively with co-workers, customers and others by sharing ideas in a constructive and positive manner; listens to and objectively considers ideas and suggestions from others; keeps commitments; keeps others informed of work progress, timetables and issues; addresses problems and issues constructively to find mutually acceptable and practical business solutions; addresses others by name, title or other respectful identifier, and; respects the diversity of our work force in actions, words and deeds. · Informs management of trends and developments in the HR profession. · Participates in the establishment of long-range company objectives and programs including financial objectives including risk management objectives set by the CEO or COO. · Conducts special studies as requested by the Executive Team, CEO, or COO. · May need to attend meetings, workshops, and other job-related responsibilities off site requiring driving or flying to destination. · Assists with other tasks and duties as necessary. CORE COMPETENCY: To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies: Job/Field Knowledge, Communications, Delegation, Judgment, Planning & Organization, and Problem Solving. QUALIFICATIONS: · Bachelor’s degree with major course work in business administration and/or equivalent experience in human resources and supervision. Considerable experience (7-10+ years) in employee relations management. PHR or SPHR certification desirable. · Excellent communications skills in English, including ability to handle sensitive issues and conflict, influence others and adapt communications to diverse audiences. Strongly prefer the same skills in Spanish. · Proficiency in employee relations, performance management, employee development and employee retention across all levels. · Demonstrated ability to solve complex legal, cultural, and other human resources issues, and critical, analytic, and strategic thinking skills. · Thorough knowledge of federal and state employment and labor laws. · Ability to gather, analyze, evaluate facts, to prepare/present concise oral and written reports. · Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with superiors, associates subordinates, officials and employees of other divisions and agencies. · Discretion, confidentiality, professionalism, and ethical standards. · Ability to handle multiple concurrent tasks and constant interruptions. · Knowledge of PC and applicable software programs to perform duties. · Knowledge of the organization and functions of the corporation. · Possession of a valid California Driver’s License and vehicle in good working condition to drive to off site meetings.
