The Human Capital Management Division is seeking a full time Human Resources Payroll Specialist for our Oklahoma City location. This is an Unclassified, position within Oklahoma State Government. In addition to a generous Benefits Packet the annual salary for this position is up to $49,500.00 based on education and experience.
The individual in this position will perform a wide variety of payroll preparation and processing, timekeeping and record keeping activities, as well as some specialized technical human resources duties, for the Office of Management and Enterprise Services (OMES) and agencies that contract with OMES for these services.
Calculates and processes various types of pay; enters changes in tax status and miscellaneous changes in payroll system; prepares and processes agency payrolls; prepares reports as directed.
Audit timekeeping records for compliance with established standards; maintain time and attendance records.
Computing wage and overtime payments, calculating and recording payroll deductions and processing terminations.
Prepares, processes, and/or reviews a variety of transactions concerning retirement and insurance deductions and payments, deferred compensation, charitable contributions and other voluntary and involuntary payroll deductions; status changes, transfers, promotions, demotions, salary changes, terminations.
Explains laws, rules and regulations pertaining to payroll and human resources transactions; contacts proper authority for interpretation of the laws, rules and regulations pertaining to the more complex transactions.
Provides assistance by interpreting and explaining employee benefit and retirement plans,
Prepares routine correspondence and forms; enters appropriate information into the computer systems including E-Verify, PeopleSoft, BAS and OPERS online.
Maintains confidential employee records and filing systems in compliance with agency policy, the OK Dept of Libraries Records Disposition Schedule and any other relevant Federal or state laws, rules or regulations.
A complete understanding of the Microsoft Office Suites and good organizational skills are required.
Four years of payroll and/or technical human resources management experience
An equivalent combination of education and experience
Preference may be given to applicants with the following:
PeopleSoft HCM experience
Payroll processing experience
Public sector human resources experience
