Description : The Human Resources Representative (Labor Relations) reports to the Vice President of Human Resources - RIH. Under general direction, provides human resource labor/employee relations services at Rhode Island Hospital, to affect its employee and labor relations philosophy, strategies and programs to maximize the levels of mutual employee-manager effectiveness and satisfaction in the workplace. Performs or coordinates the performance of a variety of recruitment, compensation, benefits, employee relations and employee development functions in support of the affiliate's operating priorities and Lifespan's human resources' major operating priorities. In conjunction with site managers, and in consideration of existing collective bargaining agreement, investigates and resolves employee complaints, disputes and concerns.
Qualifications : Baccalaureate degree in human resource management, industrial relations, business administration or related field, or the equivalent work experience. A minimum of three to five years progressively more responsible experience administering human resources programs and services. Experience in a comparably complex, unionized health care organization with broad-based exposure to multiple specialties within the field preferred. Experience must demonstrate very high level of interpersonal skills, investigatory techniques along with demonstrated abilities to effectively manage conflict in the workplace and independent ability to conceptualize, develop and affect problem resolution. Demonstrated ability to multi-task and to apply state, federal and municipal regulations impacting employment compensation, benefits and employee relations.
