Associates Degree in Business Administration or related field with courses in Human Resources Administration preferred. Similar experience may be substituted for degree. Prefer three years of benefits administration experience. Basic understanding of legal aspects of Human Resources. Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills. Computer literate and proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel. Strong HRIS skills – Kronos preferred. Strong clerical skills. Must be able to plan and organize. Must maintain confidentiality of employee information. Facilitate teamwork and build consensus with employee group. Must be resourceful and able to work under minimal supervision. Demonstrates strong problem solving skills.
Answers phones and troubleshoot employee human resource and benefit issues, providing excellent customer service. Counsel and educate employees regarding human resource processes, Benefit Plans, claims, qualifying events, appeals, 403(b), 457, COBRA, etc. research employee claims issues with vendor contracts. Enroll new hires into the HRIS including Benefit Plans. Processes required paperwork regarding human resources, Benefit Plans and COBRA to employees leaving the organization. Conduct human resource and benefits orientation/education/training. Compile data and provide reports internally and externally (vendors) as required. Assists with ensuring compliance with all governmental regulations in the human resource and benefit arenas. Plans and oversees the administration of open enrollment activities. Handles employee concerns/issues with empathy yet remains firm on policies when dealing with sensitive issues. Covers the human resources reception area as needed.
