This position serves multiple caseloads in multiple counties (Warren and Granville) the areas covered by Henderson Unit. The person will join Creedmoor team in serving customers with different disabilities focusing on Mental Health. This individual will be working closely with other Counselors and Processing Assistants under the direction of the Assistant Unit Manager and Unit Manager. |
Selected applicant is accountable for case management services through the implementation of a comprehensive plan of vocational rehabilitation services for persons with disabilities. Under supervision, the incumbent will: evaluate diagnostic data to determine eligibility and needed services; develop a written plan of services in conjunction with the consumer; monitor the consumer's progress; and work directly with community partners and businesses in order to enhance opportunities for individuals with disabilities.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities / Competencies:
Ability to interpret medical and psychological data in planning and developing rehabilitative services. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with consumers, family members, and various professional and specialty services involved in the rehabilitation process. Ability to network and communicate effectively with area employers and community agencies through excellent verbal and written skills. Knowledge of the community, local job markets and community resources.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in a human services field such as social work, counseling, psychology, special education, deaf education, or rehabilitation counseling; four-year degree and one year of experience in counseling or in a related human services field which provides experience in techniques of counseling, casework, group work, or community organization, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Trainee appointment: graduation from a four-year college/ university. Administering the class varying settings, specialized programs, and job designs at this level allow for flexibility in accepting specialized degrees in the human services area and experience with the client population as required by the specific position.
