As the Human Trafficking Training and Technical Assistance (TTA) Specialist, you will perform a range of analytical, writing, editing, problem-solving and related work in support of the Office for Victims of Crime Training and Technical Assistance Center's (OVC TTAC's) delivery of training, technical assistance, education and outreach services to the field on behalf of the Office for Victims of Crime. You will provide support to OVC TTAC's Human Trafficking (HT) program, including responding to field requests for technical assistance, supporting TTA needs of OVC grantees, working with the team to develop training guides and summary bulletins, and supporting logistical and content related tasks for public events and training calls. A minimal level of travel is required.
Responding to the human trafficking related training and technical assistance needs of OVC grantees, general victim service providers, law enforcement and other affiliated professionals
Supporting the field-requested TA application process from beginning to completion, including; conducting a thorough assessment of the requestor's needs, recommending and supporting speakers or subject matter experts, tracking and reviewing budgets related to consultant activity and travel, and tracking customized TA application progress using the OVC TTAC management information system to ensure program objectives are met in an efficient and cost-effective matter
Effectively interacting and providing responsive information to representatives from the U.S. Department of Justice and other Federal bureaus and offices, state government offices, as well as members of the allied professions, victim service and advocacy organizations, statewide coalitions and also survivors of crime
Providing logistical and content support for monthly webinars, human trafficking conferences, trainings, focus groups and other meetings
Planning and coordinating monthly webinars for OVC grantees on a variety of human trafficking related topics
Respond to client requests for data analysis and report writing
Writing monthly conference call summaries, web content, portions of reports and other deliverables
Performing other related duties as assigned
The work requires substantial collaboration with a variety of OVC and OVC TTAC points of contact, as well as with grantees from the field. The incumbent must plan and carry out concurrent activities that will ensure a timely and orderly provision of a set of deliverables to requesters, both within the Office for Victims of Crime and throughout the victim services field. The incumbent must display decisiveness, diplomacy and sound judgment in resolving difficult problems in work assignments, which are often of a complex and sensitive nature. The incumbent must be able to multi-task, and display sensitivity to the confidential nature of OVC's work and of the communications between OVC and OVC TTAC.
Demonstrated knowledge of anti-human trafficking efforts in the United States
2 years previous work experience, preferably related to human trafficking and/or in a training and technical assistance capacity
Ability to create and manage timelines and tasks in a fast paced environment, and collaborate with other teams to complete project deliverables
Ability to perform effectively in a client-service oriented environment and familiarity with government structure and government agencies
Proficiency with MS Office
Strong writing and proofreading skills with careful attention to detail
Experience in coordination and provision of training and technical assistance
Knowledge of the general nature of the victim services and victims’ rights field
Experience with remote and web based learning
Experience with meeting and conference logistics
Experience analyzing quantitative and qualitative data
Ability to communicate well, both orally and in writing
Demonstrated highly professional demeanor
Excellent verbal and interpersonal skills
Ability to work with various levels of internal staff, as well as clients, grantees, and vendors required
Ability to work autonomously and multi-task in a fast-paced environment
