Job Description

Credit Portfolio Group (CPG) is one of the key sub-groups within IB Risk and is mandated to actively manage the Corporate and Investment Bank's retained credit exposures resulting from traditional lending and derivatives activities, and the management of the firms differential discounting risks. CPG is responsible for developing and executing strategies with the primary goals of reducing credit risk concentration and losses from credit events. A major component of these responsibilities is to manage the credit and associated market risk of derivative counterparty exposures. This entails risk position analysis for a number of separate markets, and executing a coherent strategy across them.

Additionally, CPG is responsible for developing and executing strategies to manage exposures resulting from the differential discounting of collateralized exposures and from the Fair Value Adjustment Reserve relating to uncollateralized exposures. CPG partners closely with the CIB Treasury function with respect to the management of funding exposures.

We are currently looking for an Associate level candidate to join the Balance Sheet, RWA, and External Reporting team within the CIB Risk Controller function. The successful candidate will report to the Head of Balance Sheet, RWA and External Reporting for CIB Risk. The team is responsible for providing financial support, including:

Planning, forecasting, analyzing, and validating balance sheet and RWA;

Producing MIS, both stand-alone reports and for inclusion in other MIS packages;

Providing ad-hoc analyses for senior controllers and front office;

Populating, collating, and submitting various daily, monthly and quarterly regulatory submissions;

Populating, collating, and submitting various financial reporting disclosure submissions;

Representing the CIB Risk Controller function in balance sheet, RWA meeting and external reporting forums;

Leading, communicating, and implementing new regulatory requirements and changes.

Performing key controls supporting the accurate generation of Basel 3 RWA on CVA numbers

Producing and analyzing the businesses results at a legal entity level

The team interacts heavily with numerous teams in CIB F&BM organization, including regional CIB Risk Controllers, Product Controllers (Loans, Hedges, CVA, FVA and DVA controllers), central CIB Internal/External Reporting team, central B/S & RWA team, CIB Treasury team, Financial Control, Middle Office, Front Office, and other LOB Controllers. The deliverable schedule is demanding and challenging, especially during month and quarter ends.

The CPG Product Control area is currently undergoing an extensive re-engineering exercise involving the implementation of a new risk reporting infrastructure, extensive rebuild of PL reporting infrastructure, remediation of gaps in the General Ledger reconciliation and substantiation control environment, and build out of the group’s legal entity booking model. Additionally, the team is extensively involved in the implementation of the Funding Valuation reporting, risk management framework. As a member of the team the successful candidate will be asked to take an active leadership roles in number of key initiatives within these projects.
