The Arizona Department of Environmental Quality (ADEQ) has an exciting opportunity for a Oracle developer to join our team building and maintaining custom Oracle enterprise applications This opening has significant career growth potential for someone ready to coordinate and participate in design, development and maintenance of application developed using Oracle Forms and Reports, while maintaining departmental standards and delivering new modules on schedule.

*Provide leadership and direction for developers involved in Oracle based development projects, including conformance with best practices development life cycle (SDLC) principles and processes; coordinate with project managers; business subject matter experts and quality assurance staff.

*Design and code Oracle forms and reports based on business
requirements and prepare all corresponding documentation.

*Learn and understand the function and operation of the Information System Development Unit of the Information Technology Section, Administrative Services Division.

*Learn and understand the continued operation of the ADEQ Oracle enterprise databases used by all Divisions in the Agency.

*Meet project schedules and maintain day-to-day routine operations.

*Debug applications and ensure specifications are met before integrating new modules and upgrades into online production database system.

*Review code for conformance with business requirements, Oracle development best practices, and optimization.

*The incumbent will have comprehensive knowledge of: Oracle l0g and 11i,

*Must have high level experience in PL/SQL, SVN or PVCS; and processes, principles and practices of system analysis, design and software development life cycle {SDLC).

*Considerable knowledge of: personal computer applications, technical writing and documentation, reporting and basic statistical analysis, use of process documentation and management tools (e.g. Bugzilla).
Knowledge and experience with Oracle Enterprise Business Suite will be a plus.

*Strong skills in: use of high level development languages; integration of multiple software tools; software quality assurance and testing (unit, integration, system testing methods); writing requirements, documentation procedures, design, and workflows;
requirements gathering, analysis, design, testing and deployment; negotiation; customer service and professional interaction with a staff; working with users who may have little knowledge of computer systems and business procedures; oral and written communications, including presentation and experience communicating with technical
and non-technical audiences; and documenting system coding, procedures, specifications and training manuals.

*Ability to: learn new programming tools and developer applications independent of classroom and teacher environment; review reference materials and work with new applications and software; instruct and mentor personnel on new techniques, processes and procedures; constructively interact with members of development and project teams.

This position requires possession of and ability to retain a current, valid state-issued driver's license appropriate to the assignment. Employees who drive on state business are subject to driver's license record checks, must maintain acceptable driving records and must complete any required driver training (see Arizona Administrative Code R2-10-207.12.)
