ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Responsible for learning measurement and sampling activities.
Maintain written records (tally book, responsible for learning field reports).
Provide scheduler, assistant manager, and/or manager with timely
information concerning onsite problems.
Responsible for completing job assignments in accordance with Saybolt
and customer guidelines and instructions.
Able to work simple transfer by the end of probation period (i.e. barges,
tank to tank transfers, sampling, etc.).
Spend one week in nearest laboratory.
Attend Saybolt’s Safety Orientation prior to performing any field/laboratory
Wear beeper/pager at all times when on duty.
Attend monthly safety meetings.
Attend Saybolt’s basic Inspector’s School.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
High School diploma and/or equivalent required; aptitude formath preferred. No prior
training required. One to three months work experience with a service oriented organization preferred.
Exhibit professional appearance and attitude. Good communication skills at all
levels. To act in harmony with fellow employees.
90 day probation period. Overtime required. Vehicle required. Ability to work
independently. Local travel and occasional out-of-town as required for
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees of the organization.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
Valid driver’s license and a good driving record.
