Responsible for the development and maintenance of business relationships with assigned accounts. The incumbent is knowledgeable about the market and the Firm’s products and services, and advises clients on investment opportunities. The salesperson develops customer relations, distributes research, coordinates marketing of Firm’s products and builds brand awareness of Firm.
Set commission goals each year and work to attain them through customer contact (travel, phone, e-mail, etc.) that ultimately generates new business and new accounts.
Interviews institutional clients to determine clients’ assets, liabilities, cash flow, insurance coverage, tax status, and financial objectives.
Develops financial plans based on analysis of clients’ financial status and discuss financial options with clients.
Review all securities transactions to ensure accuracy of information and that trades conform to regulations of governing agencies.
Offer advice on the purchase or sale of particular securities.
Relay buy or sell orders to trading department contacts.
Attend research meetings to obtain and evaluate sales ideas. Disseminate information to clients for the purpose of generating sales of securities. Present the information received from our analysts at these meetings to a list of account assignments telephonically and electronically.
Establish, develop and maintain constructive and cooperative interpersonal relationships with clients, and maintain them over time. Contact prospective customers to determine customer needs, present information, and explain available services.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
BS required, Business or Finance major preferred
Minimum 3 years experience on the sell side, institutional sales experience preferred
Series 7 & 63 required
Proficient in basic computer skills, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Strong organizational skills, with the ability to multi-task and successfully work within a fast paced environment.
Good verbal and written communication skills. Ability to express ideas in a confident, organized and articulate manner.
