Air Products and Chemicals, Inc. (NYSE: APD), a Fortune 500 manufacturer of industrial gases and chemicals, has an immediate opening for an experienced INSTRUMENTATION AND CONTROLS TECHNICIAN at its manufacturing facility in Wichita, KS.
This position provides necessary technical and hands-on support to continuously improve plant instrumentation, electrical and DCS equipment integrity, reliability, cost and on stream factor, and is responsible for maintaining/troubleshooting and calibration of electronic and digital process control equipment, related loop equipment, electric motors and control circuitry.
The ideal candidate must be a team player with good communication skills, have a positive attitude, have a focus on safety, be self-motivated, and be willing to cross train on other job functions.
- Requires 5 years instrument and electrical maintenance experience in a petrochemical or manufacturing environment.
- HS diploma/equivalency required.
- An Associate's degree in instrumentation or I/E military background preferred.
- Must have the ability to troubleshoot/repair a variety of field instrumentation using appropriate tools and test equipment.
- Must have some knowledge in DCS, and PLC systems and knowledgeable of SMART instrumentation, and have solid experience with devices used for process measurement and control.
