Large firm located in DC is currently seeking an Intellectual Property Docket Specialist for the DC office. The primary responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to analyzing all incoming correspondence related to the prosecution of intellectual property rights, discerning the pertinent information and entering it into the docketing database. A prime duty is reconciling outgoing correspondence and attorney comments against docketed due dates in order to clear the docket daily; and to perform all other job related duties as assigned. The Docket Specialist is responsible for accurate communication with clients, attorneys and staff; answering questions; preparing timely customized reports; resolving inaccuracies and other problems. A minimum of 3 years previous experience with docketing software programs and strong Intellectual Property Docketing background with both patent and trademark prosecution (domestic and international) knowledge desired. Must have accurate data entry skills, proven organizational abilities, attention to detail; knowledge of spreadsheet and database programs; self-starter with the ability to work independently as well as make practical decisions;ability to problem-solve; possess professional oral communication skills to effectively interact with clients and all levels of staff.
