The successful candidate may have the following responsibilities:
Support and develop technology and research programs at GE Global Research Center
Counsel business on protecting IP assets
Develop technology transfer, joint development, and licensing programs to exploit IP
Draft, review and help negotiate agreements
Perform patent analysis and assertion for diversified GE technologies
Establish and maintain relations with Global Research Center program leaders
Manage international patent prosecution
Minimum 3 years of patent licensing
Minimum 5 years of prosecution experience
Minimum 3 years of drafting technology transfer and patent licensing agreements (domestic and international)
Must have a registration in good standing to practice before the USPTO and either a US state or DC bar

Ability to work independently to produce high quality work
Extensive knowledge of laws, rules, regulations and practice in major national and regional patent systems, treaties and conventions
International patent experience desirable
Excellent writing/communication skills
Strong team player – collaborates well with others to solve problems and actively incorporates input from various sources; has experience working with others on a global basis; applies knowledge to coach and mentor others
Demonstrated customer focus – evaluates decisions through the eyes of the customer; builds strong customer relationships; creates processes with customer viewpoint; partners with customers to help shape their future initiatives
Strong analytical and strong problem solving skills - communicates in a clear and succinct manner and effectively evaluates information/data to make decisions; anticipates obstacles and develops plans to resolve; creates actionable strategies and operational plans
Change oriented – actively generates process improvements ; champions and drives change initiatives; confronts difficult circumstances in creative ways, balances multiple and competing priorities and executes accordingly
