Prestigious DC firm has an immediate need for an experienced IP Patent Docketing Specialist to attend to day-to-day docketing functions of domestic and foreign patent prosecution. Responsibilities include: analyze all incoming communication related to US and foreign patent prosecution and entering required information into the docketing database; reconcile as-filed documents, acknowledgement receipts, docket sheets, attorney comments and incoming/outgoing communication against docketed due dates in order to clear dockets, monitor departmental email boxes for incoming communication and make appropriate docket updates, and prepare reports as requested.
A college degree is preferred and candidate should have a minimum of 2 years of patent docketing experience using a computerized docketing system, CPI and/or Patricia experience preferred. Prior law firm experience is required. Candidate should have knowledge of USPTO practices and procedures required and an understanding of domestic/foreign patent and trademark prosecution procedures, terminology, and deadlines required.
