As a member of project teams, this position is responsible for providing guidance concerning the business implications of the application of various systems, identifies user requirements for systems based on existing and projected operational procedures and practices, translates requirements into functional specifications, ensures the final system functionality meets the user requirements, and provides user support for the resulting applications.Main Responsibilities and Accountabilities: Analyzing and documenting business processes. Identifies, analyzes and documents user and data requirements in the context of applications development and design in support of core organizational functions. Consulting with end users to understand system needs and enhance current system functionality. Analyzing the effectiveness of existing systems and participates in design sessions for the purpose of enhancing business processes, operations, and information process flow. Recommending alternatives that address existing and potential trouble areas in business processes. Collaborates in the design, development, and deployment of new applications, and enhancements to existing applications.
The most qualified candidates will possess: Bachelor's Degree preferably in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or Business Administration. Technical training in systems analysis, programming, testing and systems validation required. Thorough understanding of Systems Development Life Cycle and validation techniques. Three years related work experience in the design, development, and implementation of software and hardware solutions, systems, or products. Experience in small to medium project management very helpful. Some background in a regulated industry preferred. Familiar with at least one programming language, servers, networking and PCs including Unix and Windows operating systems. Good knowledge of desktop applications such as MS Office, Visio and Project. Significant experience with core software applications such as Logistical Systems, Business Objects, Crystal Reports, and TrackWise. Experience in the development and analysis of Oracle and Sequel database applications as well as data retrieval methodologies in a client-Server environment. Ability to prepare and present cost estimates, budget reports, capacity forecasting, and systems upgrade recommendations. Performs in-depth tests, including end-user reviews for modified and new systems, and other post-implementation support. Participates in supporting activities such as disaster recovery, capacity planning, OS and systems upgrades. Analyzes IT project requests and prepares related project documentation for management review to obtain project approval and funding. Participates in the annual budget process to support the IT project capital budget.
