IT Business Analyst

Hill International, Inc. has an immediate opening for a Business Analyst in our Marlton, NJ office. Reporting to the Vice President, Corporate Business Systems the Business Analyst will play a vital role in identifying process improvements, managing projects, and supporting Hill’s global user population in their use of enterprise applications. The Business Analyst will be responsible for analyzing problems, proposing solutions, evaluating and documenting business requirements, assisting with the project planning and execution, and monitoring process performance. The successful candidate must be able to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical people.

Project Related Responsibilities:

Analysis and Solution Definition
  • Serve as a Subject matter expert as it relates to internal business processes and the current business environment in which they operate in, and initiate improvements, including the ability to perform root cause analysis to identify current state process inefficiencies
  • Develop qualitative and quantitative business cases for process improvement and automation initiatives
  • Plan for benefits and how they will be measured, including development and tracking of benefits realization plans as appropriate
  • Combine knowledge of what the business wants with knowledge of how the systems are built and used to create a functional design for a given application
  • Identifies, assesses, and documents business requirements, recommending business priorities, and advising business on options, risks, and costs
  • Conducts research to determine if solutions to business requirements currently exist within or outside the business area, and if not, whether new solutions are feasible
  • Write detailed description of user needs, program functions and steps required to implement, develop and/or modify application
  • Ability to articulate technical and user requirements in a concise manner that is easily understood by all
Project Execution
  • Manage project implementation as described in the business case
  • Create and manage the project schedule with timely updates and identify and mitigate schedule risks and issues using effective risk management techniques
  • Update project status and generate project status and executive reports as required
Support Related Responsibilities:
  • Work and resolve all user reported system Help tickets on a daily basis in coordination with the Help Desk staff
  • Meet or exceed Business Applications Help Desk Service Level Agreement standards
  • Develop and maintain all end user system documentation, training material and FAQs
Required Skills :

Bachelor's degree in business or IT or equivalent work experience

3+ years of Business Analyst or Project Manager experience in a professional services-related field
Experience in requirements definition, analysis, testing and user acceptance testing

Good organizational skills and the ability to prioritize multiple activities and objectives efficiently

Good problem solving and issue resolution skills and experience

Demonstrated ability to quickly build personal credibility with key customers and stakeholders

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Pluses :
  • SharePoint, SQL Server or InfoPath Certifications
  • Experience supporting ERP, CRM, HRMS or BI applications
  • PMP or Six Sigma certifications
