Chevron is accepting online applications for the position of IT Business Intelligence Solution Consultant located in Houston, Texas or Concord, California, through November 26, 2013 at 11:59 p.m. (Eastern Standard Time).

Overview:
The Process Application Data group with the Chevron Information Technology Company provides Business Intelligence solutions to the different Operating Companies and Business Units within the enterprise. This position is with the Business Analytics Organization within the Data Assets and Analytics group.

The person in this position will have primary responsibility for the design, architecting, and building of SAP Business Warehouse (SAP/BW) solutions for varying projects, maximizing reuse of existing solution components, insuring compliance with established architectural standards, and providing correct functionality. These solutions must reflect an enterprise-wide, strategic view and ensure that the solution fits with established standards. The position will be on the Business Analytics Design & Implementation team.

Position Details:
Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:

Business:
  • Consulting with the business; Engage with business to generate, evaluate, and present possible solutions to the business
  • Translates (high complexity) business requirements to process and data requirements
  • Understands and documents business definitions of data
  • Fields questions concerning the data content, definition and structure
  • Performs initial scoping and estimation of projects
  • Stays abreast of changing business requirements (e.g. tax, government and/or changing business requirements)

    Team/Role:
  • Providing leadership and expertise within the team in areas of solution design, development, testing, documentation, and implementation for varying size development projects
  • Providing leadership within the team in the areas of root-cause analysis, change impact analysis, & troubleshooting
  • Developing the data model and assure integration of data from both SAP and non-SAP source.
  • Managing small/medium projects using a standard project methodology and/or directs development teams
  • Engaging with vendor's ERP product development to understand vendor's direction and determine impacts of upcoming functionality
  • Evaluating and recommending future BW architecture and providing strategic planning for data management; staying up to date on changing, module/function knowledge
  • Meeting all standards for Technical and/or Functional design
  • Providing Coaching/Mentoring to less experienced technical team members
  • Ability to work with both employees and contractors across several geographies
  • Work with release management process to ensure changes are implemented timely

    Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Sciences, or related field
  • Minimum of 5+ years of work experience within SAP Business Warehouse is required. Design, build, test, and implement newly created or modified structures (cubes, extractors, ODS, APD, etc.) to address system / design requirements. This includes a solid working knowledge for SAP R3
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Very good knowledge of SAP Business Warehouse front and backend tools, including ABAP.

    Preferred Qualifications:

  • Oil & Gas Domain Experience is desired, though not required
