** This position may be filled as an IT Business Analyst or IT Consultant Depending upon the experience and qualifications.
Provides information technology advice and services to internal clients, mostly related to Shared Enterprise Applications. Critical listening skills and requirements documentation are required to identify appropriate solutions to customer needs.
Analyzes and develops short- and long-term solutions to address business needs through developing new software applications or modifying / adapting existing applications. Candidate will also serve as a liaison between the IT development team and business unit customers throughout an engagement to ensure success as defined by project metrics.
Resource must have the ability to think both tactically and strategically. Will assist with identifying new technologies available in the market to pilot and if viable, integrate into future service offerings. As a member of the team, will contribute to the individual application roadmaps to provide guidance on future product direction and usage at Entergy.
Position requires strong analytical and problem solving skills. Selected candidate must communicate in a clear and effective manner and have the ability to effectively evaluate information/data to make decisions.
Project management skills are required, with the ability to plan, initiate, execute, and wrap-up projects with minimal direction. In preparation and execution of projects, candidate must anticipate risks and obstacles, understand drivers and root cause, and develop plans to resolve issues and mitigate risks.
Maintain a positive and constructive relationship with Entergy's primary outsourcing partner, leveraging their expertise to pilot, design, test, implement, and operate applications. Where appropriate, bring in external vendors to assist with development projects. Provides project and vendor oversight and facilitates communications between other internal organizations (compliance, security, legal, procurement, etc.) and IT.
Provides support or development of strategies and business cases of IT which includes performing analysis of financials, contracts or projects .
Ability to work long hours under high levels of stress in a fast pace and dynamic environment, including work outside of normal business hours
IT Consultant / Business Analyst
Bachelor's Degree Information Systems (ISDS), Computer Science, or related technical degree or Experience Equivalent thereto (Master's Degree Preferred)
4 to 6 Years of experience

Microsoft Office Communicator

RightFax Server Administration
