POSITION PURPOSE -
The Developer has demonstrated a good working knowledge in at least one programming language. Has taken business requirements and turned these into detail technical design to be used as part of a system application for production. Has worked in both developing and maintaining applications for production environments. The Developer has a solid understanding and is effective in documenting requirements, in testing systems, and in working with the life cycle process. Has developed code or written programs from scratch to be used in a production environment. Work to become proficient in one or more programming language within assigned technical area by performing assigned tasks.
This is a software development position within the Point of Sale development team. This team provides value by implementing and supporting applications that increase sales dollars, reduce transaction times and reduce task hours which results in fewer labor hours. This position would mainly be focused on projects associated with newer technologies such as Java, Flex, and .NET. This developer will need to be able to interpret business requirements and functional design specifications and use them to create new applications and enhance existing applications. Developer demonstrates a good working knowledge in at least one object oriented programming language. Work to become proficient in one or more programming language within assigned technical area by performing assigned tasks. Developer will need to be able to work in a fast paced environment independently and as part of a team. This is an entry level position, we are willing to consider recent college graduates, with a computer science or software engineering related degree, that are able to learn quickly.
MAJOR TASKS, RESPONSIBILITIES AND KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES -
Take business requirements and develop the total technical design for assigned mid-sized projects and ensure proper usage as part of the design efforts in building a system to be put into production.
Follow the established processes, policies, standards and procedures to assure compliance with corporate and regulatory policies and standards.
Conduct appropriate test reviews on assigned projects as necessary. Present findings and offer solutions to management.
NATURE AND SCOPE -
Typically reports to Manager, Information Technology
No direct responsibility for supervising others.
ENVIRONMENTAL JOB REQUIREMENTS -
Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.
Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS -
Must be eighteen years of age or older.
Must pass the Drug Test.
Must successfully complete any required training or orientation courses
EDUCATION REQUIRED -
The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a high school diplomas and/or GED.

PHYSICAL JOB REQUIREMENTS -
Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS -
The candidate for this position must have good communication skills both written an verbal, positive attitude, ability to quickly comprehend and become effective using new technologies, ability to adapt to changing directions, tasks and priorities, dedication to completing critical tasks in a timely manor.
