IT DirectorThe Information Technology Director is responsible for the efficient and effective management of the information technology functions, including planning, organizing and directing the activities of the IT Department. The IT Director oversees systems software development and maintenance, programming tasks (including design, coding, debugging and documentation SAP support resources), and IT infrastructure support and security. Also, he/she performs a significant analytical role, ensuring that systems across the organization are utilized efficiently and effectively.General Duties/ResponsibilitiesProvides leadership, management, and architectural vision to the IT department (Infrastructure Group and SAP Group). Provides strategy for future direction of the IT department; regularly reviews strategic plan/priorities with department members.Prioritizes company IT needs with company stakeholders.Ensures that IT resources and support are provided for both Acumed buildings, remote users (including international travelers and employees), and subsidiaries. Identifies risks associated with information technology and provides recommendations or how to remove or reduce them; ensures that proper controls and security are in place to protect corporate data.Stays abreast of technological trends; ensures that the company is making the best use of available technology.Provides company-wide leadership and technical expertise to ensure that IT resources and processes enable employees to support the company's mission direction; anticipates opportunities to prepare for anticipated company growth / change.Oversees and provides leadership over all information systems impacting company business this includes but is not limited to SAP system, business machines, cell and smart phones, and telephone systems.Plans and direct preliminary studies of potential electronic data processing applications and prepare design proposals to reflect costs, time and alternative actions to satisfy existing and future needs of the company.Develops conversion and system implementation plans.Conducts and coordinates analysis, design and implementation of computer based information systems to meet user requirements.Communicates with employees from various departments, ensuring that the IT department provides effective and timely service to its internal customers.Oversees contracts and duties performed by vendors and consultants.Ensures that the company's software and hardware licenses and maintenance agreements are up-to-date.Manages Information Technology budget for entire company.QualificationsBachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field. Master's degree preferred.Minimum 8 years of systems analysis/programming activities in a business environment.Minimum 5 years of supervisory experience.Experience successfully managing the support of SAP or another tier one ERP system.Proven mentorship skills (providing strong leadership and timely/effective performance feedback.)Ability to lead cross-department projects and build consensus on solution.Knowledge of IT best practices for companies of comparable size and industries.
