Overview: Oversee the company's information technology department. Recommends and plans information technology to support and meet the needs of the company. Direct department goals, objectives, and systems. Assist executive management with aligning company information technology with strategic direction. Provides assistance and resources as needed to General Managers. Helps 'direct reports' to improve productivity and quality.
Specific Duties*: Provides strategic direction to the company in areas relating to information technology. Recommends and plans information technology processes to support and meet company objectives based on research and evaluation. Directs implementation and execution of new/upgraded information systems via well-defined plans including procedures, deadlines, and accountability. Evaluates and implements IT procedures and equipment for maximum efficiency and cost containment. Ensures users/customers are provided professional, courteous, and timely support and service. Develops and maintains company Disaster Recovery Plan. Assigns & allocates resources (i.e., hires/terminates employees and acquires technological tools needed to accomplish work). Define and record measurables for monitoring areas of improvement for reporting to Upper Mgmt.
Accountabilities: Accountable for ensuring jobs are completed on time and within budget. Accountable for ensuring employees work effectively.
Education: Bachelor's Degree (management, computer science, management information technology or a related field) or possesses advanced training and/or experience in informational technology equivalent to the completion of an MBA or similar program.
Skills: Exceptional organizational and communication skills. Ability to handle multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines. Proven expertise in the management of information technology. Proficient in use in application design and development, general system analysis, operational procedures, network infrastructure, hardware management, internet presence, document management, and telephony.
Experience: A minimum of seven (7) years of progressive experience as an information technology professional.
Personal Qualities: Well organized, strong leadership abilities, high integrity, exceptional customer relations skills, and a good motivator. Exceptional decision making ability.
Preferences: CNE certification preferable. Two (2) years' experience in manufacturing environment is ideal.
Environment: Typical office environment with infrequent time spent on shop floor.
Physical Demands: High mental stress due to the magnitude and weight of responsibilities. Some light lifting - no more than 25 lbs. w/o mechanical assistance. Frequent computer, calculator, and telephone usage (protect against carpal tunnel syndrome).
Travel: Occasional visits to MTG facility locations
Hours: Salaried position, 50+ hours as needed to meet obligations and deadlines.
