Provide the design, implementation and management support of R&D business applications and projects. Principle accountabilities include providing Technology Solutions to advance the Business. This group also serves as experts in the areas of computer technology, providing optimal technical solutions to business processes. Lead meetings and working groups as necessary, and prepare reports and white papers to advance the productivity of the department. Work is expected to be conducted independently and within all compliance requirements, and reviewed under general direction for completion of milestones and objectives. Occasional travel may be required. PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES: Maintain expertise in the area of R&D, including industry trends, strategies, and products to ensure that assets are effectively and efficiently utilized. Work with the Risk Management and Health Outcomes to determine data management and analysis needs. Provide leadership in the design, implementation, integration, administration and management of multiple R&D systems processes/components. Create and manage technology strategy and roadmap to influence IT decision making; perform R&D as necessary. Possess client-facing skills and effective building of internal and external relationships. Ensure adherence to standards, regulations, best practices, and alignment with overall department goals. Understand inter-relationships and impact of systems and applications upon the environment. Coach and mentor peers and associates in the area of R&D. The incumbent works without appreciable direction toward long-range goals and objectives. Assignments may often be self-initiated and agreed upon with management. Determines and pursues courses of action necessary to obtain desired results. Work is checked only to the effectiveness of results obtained. Deliver projects following software development lifecycle in regulated environment.
BS/Equivalent Training / Certification and 8+ years of relevant experience.
Required Experience & Technical Requirements
The incumbent must demonstrate mastery of one discipline and an advanced knowledge of multiple disciplines and their inter-dependencies. Desired technical skills would include: SAS, Data Analytics, and Data Management, Application Development, and working experience with Oracle/SQL databases. Makes recommendations in his/her discipline and is the subject matter expert in the group. Collaborates with peers to develop solutions.
