HOK is looking for an experienced IT Manager for its New York City office. Primary responsibilities include: § Oversees the daily performance of the information technology department. § Ensures Interacts with office management, design and production staff to address how technology can be best applied to practice issues. § Maintains current and accurate asset management records, including lease schedules and on-time return of expired assets. § Oversee local network implementation of network permissions model, network security patches, and other network-wide initiatives and policies. § Implements and maintains anti-virus, personal firewall, backup, archiving standards and other fundamental IT processes. § Monitors and maintains WAN and LAN operation, integrity and performance. Troubleshoots and corrects current and impending problems. Contacts technical service as required. § Responsible for network operations and procedures. Ensures policies and procedures are in place in assigned office(s). § Maintains all server hardware including performance and health. Troubleshoots and corrects current and impending problems. § Maintains all end user computer hardware including basic software applications. Troubleshoots and corrects current and impending problems. § Monitors and maintains VOIP, integrity and performance. Troubleshoots and corrects current and impending problems. Contact technical service as required. § Responsible for managing company cell phones, data cards, and other related equipment. § May supervise one or more IT Support Specialists. May be responsible for staff performance development. § Demonstrates continuous effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, streamline work processes, and work cooperatively and jointly to provide quality seamless customer service. § Participates in meetings with other IT Managers and Directors. Works closely to develop and implement firmwide IT standards and goals. § Performs duties of a Senior IT Support Specialist as needed. § May perform after-hour and weekend help desk functions. § May participate in interviewing professional staff. § Takes personal responsibility for fostering a green workplace through sustainable work practices. Required qualifications for the IT Manager include: § Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering or related field required. § 7 plus years' work experience or an equivalent in education and experience required. § Previous supervisory experience preferred. § Previous experience with BMC Service Desk Express or similar system preferred. § Microsoft Certification preferred. SKILLS & COMPETENCIES: § Advanced knowledge of circuit boards, processors, chips, electronic equipment, and computer hardware and software, including applications and programming. § Advanced knowledge of command languages for multiple processing platform system software and related peripheral equipment. § Advanced knowledge of transmission, broadcasting, switching, control, and operation of telecommunications systems. § Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook required. § Ability to set up and operate a variety of computer equipment. § Ability to work in a team environment and supervise others. § Ability to work efficiently, in an organized manner and with attention to detail. § Ability to communicate effectively regarding technical matters, both verbally and in writing.
