The Information Technology Network Administrator designs, supports, maintains, and evaluates computer networking and telecommunication systems, under general direction of IT Department Leadership. The Information Technology Network Administrator also plans, designs and implements connectivity for wide area network (WAN) and local area network (LAN).


  • Oversees the daily operations of an enterprise data and voice network.
  • Executes daily administration tasks for a VoIP phone system
  • Ensures the uptime, availability and performance of network and system components
  • Analyzes and troubleshoots network issues and tracks the nature and resolution of problems
  • Coordination of projects including circuit installation, network wiring and maintenance activities.
  • Provides technical leadership in the integration and test of complex integrated networks.
  • Researches, recommends and implements network hardware and software solutions.
  • Assists in installing, designing, configuring and maintaining system hardware.
  • Performs analysis of network requirements for backup and disaster recovery objectives
  • Performs periodic network inventory and audit tasks
  • Provides escalation support as point of contact for a HelpDesk team
  • Shares experience, knowledge, and ideas with management and co-workers to promote an effective and comfortable team based environment.
  • Perform other related tasks as assigned.

  • Qualifications:
    • High School Diploma or G.E.D. required.
    • One year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
    • 6 or more years of general enterprise data and voice network experience required.
    • 3 or more years of experience implementing Juniper or Cisco network solutions required.
    • 3 or more years of experience with VoIP/SIP architecture and solutions required.
    • 2 or more years of experience with firewall administration required.
    • Experience working with WAN/LAN network architecture/topology concepts required including: Routing, Switching, Design, Configuration, Traffic Shaping, Policy Based Routing, Route Maps
    • Experience working with and managing OSPF, BGP, GRE, QoS, ACLs, MPLS, VPN, IP, NAT, DNS, DHCP required.
    • Experience required with secure networking concepts and practices including network hardening, authorization and access, network monitoring, log management, network IDS/IPS, etc.
    • Working knowledge of data center management concepts including power management, cooling, network rack and cabling solutions required.
    • Working knowledge of server class hardware and enterprise storage solutions required.
    • Ability to analyze complex requirements and distill them into a workable project plan required.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a focus on providing clear, concise and professional documentation for areas of assigned responsibility required.
    • Ability to give oral presentations and overviews on areas of assigned responsibility and knowledge.
    • Security Certifications: CISSP, GIAC, etc. preferred.
    • Vendor Certifications: Juniper, Cisco, etc. preferred.
    • Experience with Active Directory, Microsoft Exchange administration and
      concepts preferred.
    • 1 or more years of experience with project management preferred.
    • Proficiency with incident response execution and concepts preferred.
    • Experience with Active Directory, Microsoft Exchange administration and
      concepts preferred.
    • Ability to lift 75 pounds.
