This position will be part of a team within the Transportation Public Works - Stormwater Management Division. The primary role will be to assist with maintaining the Stormwater Asset database. This will include QA of the existing database and editing new and existing assets. Activities will include reviewing engineering plans and plats and entering information into the GIS database; editing the stormwater assets based on City work orders; QC of survey data; assisting division employees with GIS; GIS analysis; creating maps; fulfilling data requests and Accela Automation administration.
Skills / Requirements
The following education and/or experience are the minimum standards which provide the requisite knowledge, skills and abilities for this position:
Bachelors degree or higher from an accredited college with major course work in GIS, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or a related field. Knowledge and training in GIS required. In addition, an understanding of CAD, Engineering Plans and Plats is strongly preferred. Knowledge of linear utilities is a plus.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS: The successful candidate will be proficient using MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook) on a daily basis.
MISC. REQUIREMENTS: Some field work may be required, and may be necessary during inclement weather conditions.
