Job Number:



Responsible for planning, leading and coordinating multiple small, medium and large projects from initiation to implementation.

Leads cross-functional teams and works with Business Analysts/partners to determine and translate business requirements into technology solutions.

Responsible for managing project costs, resources, change requests, risk and issues to ensure that maximum benefit is maintained as well as provision of regular status updates.


Typically reports to a Project Manager or Director of PMO


Works with Project Managers and project team to ensure quality and timely delivery of projects


Accountable for ensuring appropriate/optimal engagement of delivery resources.

Works with functional managers to allocate resources


Develops high-level project plans and ensures that the scope and approach are fully understood by all stakeholders


Assembles project plans, ensures all systems of record for project reporting are kept current, and directs and monitors work effort on a regular basis


Reviews development estimates from development teams and actively seeks clarifications/verification as appropriate


Identifies and tracks key project milestones


Monitors and communicates the progress of project delivery and ensures timely and effective communication of project status in terms of cost, forecast, schedule and assessment of risk/issues


Negotiates and influences cross-functional teams to ensure appropriate resourcing levels are engaged and maintained throughout the life of the project


Proactively anticipates project risks and issues and ensures adequate mitigation is in place to ensure project delivery in not compromised


Ensures proper Change Control procedures and processes are efficiently used to maintain control of scope, schedule and budget


Coach, mentor, motivate and supervise project coordinators, as well as project team members;

influence them to take positive action and accountability for their assigned work.


Build, develop, and grow any business relationships vital to the success of the project.


Conduct project post-mortems and create a recommendations report in order to identify successful and unsuccessful project elements.


Bachelors degree or higher preferred.

PMI (PMP) or equivalent (MPM) Project Management Certification required.

Minimum 5 years experience managing projects.

Minimum of 3 years experience managing projects in Healthcare, Information Technology, or Clinical Informatics.

Experience managing projects with a minimum of 10 resources assigned and project durations of at least 6 months.

Experience managing projects with Regional Teams
