The IT Project Management Center of Excellence is responsible for delivering value for Chevron through project execution excellence. We do this by partnering across Chevrons' global IT organization to drive improvements in project processes and grow capability across the project management community. We are accountable to:

  • Manage the development, enhancement and deployment of standard project management methodology, processes and tools. Leverage and contribute to Chevron internal and industry best practices.
  • Partner with large projects to facilitate project checkpoints, extract learnings following project completion, and use these to drive continuous improvement in the overall project management system. Provide decision analysis support for project decisions.
  • Provide oversight and visibility into a large IT project portfolio. Liaise with Houston-based operating companies to understand business and asset strategies and key initiatives.

    Position Details:
    Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:

  • Leading Project Assurance Reviews and Project Lookbacks
  • Applying techniques in Decision Analysis to improve capital stewardship
  • Developing and deploying tools and processes to support IT project execution
  • Support the developing and teaching project management courses (such as Project Framing, CPDEP for IT, CSOC)
  • Providing insight into the IT project portfolio to support senior leader decision-making
  • Leads through influence to engage across many areas of the IT Function

    Required Qualifications:

  • Extensive knowledge (5-10 years) of project management approaches and tools across the a range of small to large projects, with a proven track record of success in leading projects
  • Demonstrated ability to lead change through influence, collaboration and engagement
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or Management Information Systems

    Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize and manage multiple activities and integration points
  • Strong attention to detail with a demonstrated process focus
  • Strong analytic and decision making abilities
  • Demonstrated proficiency in or desire to learn the following technologies
  • Microsoft suite of office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and SharePoint
  • Experience with MS Project or other project planning tools

    Relocation Options:

    Relocation will not be considered within Chevron parameters.
