Intervise Consultants is currently hiring for a Technical Project Manager. We have been retained by a large organization's CTO to help advance their software practices and data strategy. While this organization has an impressive track record of operating mission critical systems, new development and modernization brings new challenges. Like many organizations that develop operational data pipelines, modern technology to support analytics and data discovery allow for new opportunities.
We seek someone with technical project management experience to manage these strategic projects.
Managing several technical projects
Interfacing with other managers and client personnel
Managing project scope, time, cost, risk, resources, and communication
Maintaining an active presence and performing the key coordination tasks throughout the project lifecycle
Developing and maintaining the project plans
Leading regularly scheduled team and status meetings
Maintaining visibility of and communicating project dates, functional requirements, and deliverables
Project Management - Comfort and experience with Agile/Sprint (e.g. scrum master, PMP), development and management of milestone driven project plans, risk identification and mitigation, resource management, project status reporting to all levels of management. Strong analysis skills and ability to break down complex problems into small manageable pieces.
Strong technical background in software development, solution architecture, data centric applications and experience managing teams in these areas.
Business Relationship Management and Customer Relationship Management experience. Excellent negotiating skills. Familiarity with contract management. Comfortable talking about technology, software development, personnel management and development. Ability to build, discuss, and deliver presentation decks.
This position must work closely and collaboratively with the technical experts on the project. One is NOT over the other. The person in this position makes project management decisions but needs to trust and rely on the technical expertise of the technical leads
Bachelor's Degree in computer science or related field
Minimum of 8 years of IT experience
Minimum of 5 years experience managing full life cycle software development efforts
Experience leading medium sized teams
Experience with MS Project
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Proven ability to manage concurrent software development efforts using established practices
Ability to effectively manage project risk
Scrum master and/or PMP preferred
Prior coding experience in a modern language (e.g., c/c++ or java or sql) preferred
