Swinerton's IT Department is looking for an IT Project Manager to lead and manage the successful delivery of various IT projects through the entire project lifecycle including managing scope, time, cost, risk and quality while maintaining a positive environment. The position will be based out of our downtown Concord office. To be successful in this role, the IT Project Manager should possess a solid understanding of project management approaches and tools to manage multi-phased projects and the flexibility to lead multi-disciplinary and diverse teams to deliver solutions.

Primary responsibilities will include:
Provides expert leadership to highly visible and multi-faceted projects while motivating and fostering coordination across teams to deploy solutions

Work with business units to determine project drivers, goals and visions to ultimately produce project deliverables (Charter, Plans, Statuses, Change Requests, Risk Management, etc.)

Lead project teams to accurately estimate resources, scope and define an appropriate project delivery method to align with the goals for the project

Provide staff leadership to multi-disciplinary teams, as well as manage work of outside consultants

Proactively manage (with minimal supervision) all tactical aspects of a project: budget, schedule, scope, issues/risks, quality, communication, and team members on a regular basis.

Work closely with the team on an ongoing basis to ensure project requirements are clearly defined, met, and understood.

Proactively communicate project vitals such as project status, project finances and project resources to the company's Project Management Office (PMO)

Work with the PMO to build and improve project management tools, ongoing practices and knowledge sharing

Mentor employees on Project Management duties, responsibilities and best practices

Position requirements include:
Minimum 6+ years experience; at least 3 years in project management plus 3 years experience working on IT projects (or the equivalent combination of education and experience)

Formal Project Management training strongly encouraged

PMP certification a plus

Ability to understand IT concepts such as web applications, servers, database types and structures, network infrastructure components, reporting and query fundamentals and integration methodologies

Accepts and adapts to change readily

Uses resources effectively and efficiently; can orchestrate multiple activities at once to accomplish a goal

Learns quickly when facing new problems; enjoys the challenge of an unfamiliar task; quickly grasps the essence and underlying structure of issues and/or tasks

Excellent English verbal, listening and written communication skills

Excellent leadership and interpersonal communication skills

Ability to work independently

Ability to work effectively with people; can negotiate skillfully in tough situations with internal and external groups

Effective problem-solving ability and strong analytical skills; can see underlying or hidden problems and patterns; looks beyond the obvious to develop solution options
