Job Purpose

The IT Project Program Manager consults with and advises the technical project management staff to manage a group of projects designed to accomplish a business objective. They will identify cross project dependencies, monitor project progress, make recommendations to management, and take other actions necessary to keep the program on track. They are responsible for developing and coordinating software releases across a wide range of software development and maintenance projects, in development, integration, and Model Office (QA) environments, as well as assisting in coordinating deployments to production. While the technical project manager is responsible for delivering a single project, the program manager must ensure that the entire program is delivered, which may consist of projects which span multiple lines of management responsibility. The IT Project Program Manager is also responsible for ensuring that the project management system is up to date and accurately portrays the status of projects. They will utilize enterprise project management tools to build out project plans, initiates portfolios for overall IT capacity and maintains resource management information.

Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities

Consults with and advises the technical project management staff to manage a group of projects (program) designed to accomplish a business objective.

Identify cross project dependencies, monitor project progress, make recommendations to management, and take other actions necessary to keep the program on track

Work on multiple project programs to ensure the success of those programs.

Developing and coordinating software releases across a wide range of software development and maintenance projects

Work in multiple development and test regions to coordinate code movement across those regions

Develop and maintain project plans in an enterprise project management system

Coordinates cross-functional teams to identify and implement software development solutions.

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Demonstrated ability to successfully meet project deliverables in a timely manner.

Solid knowledge of an enterprise project tracking system for tracking/development/reporting.

Strong knowledge of MS Office applications including Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Access.

Strong organizational skills; ability to prioritize tasks and projects to meet deadlines.

Strong attention to detail; with exceptional analytical and problem solving skills.

Must be able to work independently and as part of a team.

Effective interpersonal skills, ability to communicate effectively and serve as a liasion between cross-functional teams.

Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Education and Experience

Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience, required.

5+ years project management experience required.

Experience working with an enterprise project management system; AtTask is preferred.

Certifications, Licenses, Registrations

Project management certification preferred.
