The IT Solutions Department is seeking a qualified individual to supervise the Citys hardware support team. Primary responsibilities of the team include computer and printer hardware break/fix, Moves, Adds, Changes, (MAC) software installation and support, as well as customer training as needed.
The successful candidate will supervise, plan, coordinate, schedule and manage the day to day activities of the team; to coordinate assigned activities with other divisions, departments, and outside agencies; to provide highly responsive assistance to management and customers; to maintain accurate inventory records and perform audits; to mentor and coach technicians, and participate in the performance appraisal process.
Skills / Requirements
The following education and/or experience or its equivalent is the minimum standard which provides the requisite knowledge, skills and abilities for this position:
An Associates Degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or a related field PLUS four (4) years of responsible experience in information system technical support work, such as operating systems, networking, server backup and recovery, or related fields.
A High School Diploma or GED PLUS six (6) years of responsible experience in information system technical support work such as operating systems, networking, server backup and recovery, or related fields may substitute for the degree requirement.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Two (2) or more years Supervisory experience required. Experience supervising an IT group is strongly preferred. Develop and administer goals, objectives and procedures. Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills, both oral and written. Possession of a valid Class C Drivers License and an acceptable driving record. Respond after-hours as needed. Ability to lift and carry up to 50lbs. Delegate authority and responsibility. Select, supervise, train and evaluate team members. Analyze problems, identify alternative solutions, project consequences of proposed actions and implement recommendations in support of goals. Prepare clear and concise administrative reports. Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing. Operate a computer and other office equipment; develop graphic presentations. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of business.
