This IT Service Management Associate Intern position is a general operational role. This person will assist with development and operation of various ITSM processes. This person will interface with multiple functional areas and will help ensure ITSM processes are meeting their desired outcomes.

Essential Job Duties:
  • Work with ITSM process owners to operate and implement IT Service Management Processes
  • Duties will include documentation, design, data entry and communications with involved parties
  • Gather requirements for service management needs for various processes.
  • Assist with processes including but not limited to problem management, continual service improvement, ITSM tooling, change management, incident management, service catalog management, asset management, configuration management and knowledge management.
  • Assist in conducting root cause analysis in either problem management and/or incident management
  • Assist in improvement opportunities
  • Assist with data entry within ServiceNow and Sharepoint
  • Assist with administrative tasks for all process areas
  • Conduct duties and tasks in each area as assigned by each process manager
  • Assist with populating knowledge management
Additional Job Duties (include but are not limited to):
  • Build strong relationships with BTS functional areas
  • Document process dependencies
  • Assist in developing and delivering reports and metrics
  • Assist with training staff around new process and changes
  • Socialize ITSM practices
  • Attend meetings as required.
  • Provide suggestions for improvement
  • Liaise with necessary departments when necessary.

Minimum Requirements:
  • Excellent communication skills verbal and written
  • Must be an organized and detailed individual
  • Must have business acumen
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Certifications such as ITIL, ISO20000, Microsoft MOF preferred
  • Certification in Six Sigma preferred
  • HTML and JavaScript would be a plus.
Education:
  • Must have a two year degree, preferably Bachelor’s degree

Physical Demands: While performing the duties of the job, the employee is regularly required to use hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee requires dexterity in using telephone, computer keyboard, mouse and calculator while seated at a desk. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk and sit. The employee may frequently move to interact with fellow employees and/or clients. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Communication Skills: While performing Duties of the job, the employee is required to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence and memos. The employee requires the ability to write effective and detailed correspondence and to effectively present information both in one-on-one and small group situations.

Mental Demands: While performing duties of this job, the employee is required to deal with stress associated with a fast-paced work environment and multiple priorities/tasks. The employee will be required to make judgment decisions and adapt to changing work situations, grasp and apply new ideas, communicate with various personalities at all levels and have the ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed instructions.

Work Environment: While performing duties of this job, the employee is required to work in an office environment, and the noise level is usually moderate to loud.
