As an Information Technology Specialist, Systems Analysis, you will:
Ensure the integration of IT programs and services; develop solutions to integration/interoperability issues; design, develope, and manage IT security systems that meet current and future business requirements, and apply or extend, enhance, or optimize the existing architecture; manage assigned projects; communicate complex technical requirements to non-technical personnel; and prepare and present briefings to senior management officials on complex/controversial issues. Such work assignments include leading multifunctional development projects in the assessment of systems design methodologies to improve software quality. Specific assignment areas include work such as the following:
Translate business rules and processes into requirements;
Assess new systems design methodologies to improve software quality, accurately represent customer requirements, effectively measure software development risk, present recommendations for adoption of new methodologies, and lead the implementation of the improvement project;
Review the impact of new systems design policies on the systems design process, including recommending the most beneficial implementation approaches, and leading the implementation activities.
BASIC QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: You must meet one or more of the following basic requirements by the closing date of this announcement.
At least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the grade 12 level that demonstrated accomplishment of computer project assignments that required a wide range of knowledge of computer requirements and techniques pertinent to the position to be filled. This knowledge is generally demonstrated through assignments that required the ability to analyze a number of alternative approaches in the process of advising management concerning major aspects of ADP system design. This would include defining what system interrelationships must be considered, or what operating mode, system software, and/or equipment configuration is most appropriate for a given project. In addition, your experience must include planning and coordinating an agency-wide implementation of process improvement methods and concepts to improve the quality of software products; Serving as the principle advocate within the agency/organization for the application of process improvement concepts and practices; and Consulting with senior specialists and IT managers throughout the agency in the implementation of process improvement practices.
