Position Summary

Broadwind Energy is seeking an IT System Administrator. This position can be located in Cicero, IL or Manitowoc, WI. The System Administrator will perform functions to develop and maintain the information technology systems to ensure the accurate and efficient flow of information throughout the entire organization.

In this position, you will have the opportunity to: · Engineer solutions for various project and operational needs.
· Install new / rebuild servers and configure hardware, peripherals, services, settings, directories and storage in accordance with standards and project/operational requirements.
· Install, configure and upgrade enterprise and business application software.
· Investigate new technologies and methods to increase system efficiencies and meet organizational goals. Research and recommend innovative and automated approaches for system administration tasks.
· Develop and maintain installation, configuration and operational procedures and system standards.
· Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of schedule jobs.
· Perform regular security monitoring to identify any possible intrusions.
· Perform daily backup operations, ensuring successful completion.
· Perform regular file archival and purge as necessary meeting with company records management policies.
· Maintain Active Directory including the creation, modification and deletion of user accounts, groups and policies.
· Repair and recover from hardware and software failures and coordinate and communicate with those impacted.
· Apply software patches and upgrades on a regular basis, and upgrade administrative tools and utilities. Configure and add new services as necessary.
· Perform ongoing tuning, hardware upgrades, and resource optimization as required. Configure systems and storage as required.
· Perform periodic performance reporting to support system and storage planning.
· Provide support to and assist Information Technology personnel in supporting corporate personnel and environment.
· Track and record all software licenses.
· Perform other duties as assigned.
To be successful in this position, you will need: • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field experience
• Minimum five (5) years’ experience in Information Technology / Information Systems
• Experience with and strong knowledge of server environment including:
o Microsoft Windows Server Operating System(s)
o Microsoft Hyper-V Server, preferred, or Virtual Server Technology
o Microsoft Server Applications; Exchange 2010, SQL 2008, Lync, SharePoint
• Strong knowledge of local and wide area network design, implementation, and operation.
• Strong knowledge of desktop, notebook, handheld, and server computer hardware.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office productivity software.
• Experience with one or more ERP systems beneficial.
• Ability to communicate and present technical concepts to technical and non- technical audiences.
• Strong attention to detail; a nalytical and problem solving skills.
• Demonstrated aptitude for learning new technologies.
• Strong interpersonal skills to resolve IT issues with individuals at all levels of the organization.
• Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information and situations.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to manage multiple competing tasks and demands.
