In this position the R&D, IT Specialist will play an enabling role in the use of technology to accelerate innovation and commercialization of products through efficient use of CAE/CAD/PLM and Graphical Rendering software; This individual will also initiate and coordinate discussions related to high performance compute clusters with regard to harnessing the power spread across multiple processors, multiple cores and multiple threads across cores.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
Tune, Optimize and troubleshoot High Performance Compute (HPC) clusters in a Windows environment.
Initiate and coordinate discussions related to choice of servers, processors, memory, disk space, graphics cards, compilers, OS and queuing, Job management software to optimize the performance of high end engineering applications in the CAE/CAD/PLM/Graphical Rendering areas.
Maintain and support existing infrastructure for CAD/PLM/CAE/CFD graphical rendering software systems.
Ensure that licenses for all PD related software products are current.
Maintain accurate documentation for servers, clients and supported applications
Experience in scripting / customization of CAD/CAE/PLM software and programming in a scientific environment would be a plus, as well as
Education and Experience Required
Bachelors degree or equivalent in Computer Science/Information systems, Engineering or related fields with 1‐3 years of experience (or Associate degree with 2‐3 years experience).
Knowledge of High performance Compute clusters in a Windows environment
Ability to work in a fast paced environment
Good communication and interpersonal skills
Good time management and organization skills
Self motivated and results oriented thought leader with a great deal of autonomy.
