As part of a diverse JM Information Technology (IT) team, you will be working with an array of cross-process modules within the full SAP application suite, including Business Objects Business Intelligence. The full suite of functionality was successfully deployed across over 30 North American locations from 2009 to 2011. The Manager, SAP Basis is responsible for the strategy, project execution, budget and operational management of JM's SAP environments.

This position is responsible for the management of all areas of SAP Basis; SAP architecture, reporting to management of performance, and upgrades; correction and transport management (CTS/TMS), client and landscape strategies, batch scheduling, Early watch and Go-live checks, OSS note research and application, SAPGUI deployment, resolve tickets with the Help Desk, application server load balancing, printer troubleshooting and spool administration, daily system checks (CCMS), disaster recovery testing, and performance tuning.

Manages Basis administrators on the performance, reliability and availability of the SAP systems in alignment with industry standards.

Manages with functional teams the client-instance and transport strategy for all SAP environments for implementations and projects as well as ongoing operations.

Directs the disaster recovery processes according to specifications agreed to by the business for key JM SAP systems.

·

Responsible for the formulation and realization of performance goals as related to SAP systems.

·

Manages activities associated with SAP production control and coordination including planning, scheduling, input/output control, job setup, standards, etc.

·

Works with others in JM in order to solve technical issues.

Establishes and monitors escalation of problems.

·

Escalates SAP problems utilizing OSS problem notification and Remedy Helpdesk software.

·

Evaluates EarlyWatch reports and recommends appropriate changes based upon those reports

·

Manages team on tunable parameters for SAP and OS systems, monitors performance parameters for their effectiveness.

·

Evaluates trend analysis to detect long term performance problems and prevent performance degradation.

·

Manage processes for the proper management of SAP including incident, change, and problem management

·

Manage SAP client copies, system copies, imports / exports, and transports as needed.

·

Manage project planning and execution for major activities such as software upgrades, software configuration changes and hardware upgrade or replacement.

·

Develops plans and schedules the development, introduction, communication and maintenance of the SAP systems architecture including the applications and infrastructure architectures and assures that this architecture is integrated with the application road maps and strategies.

Sets strategy on infrastructure products and new technology for all levels of management and technical staff

·

Manages staff performance planning for direct reports.

Responsible for all hiring, promotion, and performance feedback activities for direct reports.

Provide 24 hour on call support coverage as needed

Works weekends and late nights as needed

Requirements:
  • At least 3 years managing enterprise environments. Must have experience both installing and maintaining SAP systems.
  • Must have significant experience in ECC 6.0 or greater. This should include leadership of technical installations in this area. Must have managed a few major system upgrades.
  • Significant experience in at least 2 other SAP systems. This should include SRM, SCM / APO, PI, Business Objects BI, or Solution Manager.
  • 2 years direct management experience or experience managing projects teams through matrix organization structures.
  • Experience with SAP BW, and SAP Enterprise Portal a plus

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Solid understanding of critical business functions.
  • Able to formulate, document and implement work flow processes.
  • Able to understand and manage budgets.
