Sets policies and procedures for the Iowa Teacher Intern License Pathway (ITILP) program, monitors candidate success, and approves candidates for licensure; determines curriculum and modifies program based on program evaluation data; advises prospective students regarding the licensure program; provides all required documentation for yearly reviews; ensures the ITILP program is visible to potential candidates and creates and maintains all materials needed for candidate and program success; responds to inquiries and requests for data; and provides guidance and leadership to other agencies.
At least three years of experience in school administration, a school-based teacher leader role, educational leadership at the local, regional or state level, or a higher education teaching or leadership position in education required. At least three years of teaching experience also required.
Valid State of Iowa teaching license preferred.
Strong working knowledge of effective teacher preparation, Iowa Chapter 77 standards, Iowa Core Curriculum, and program approval processes; familiarity with the Iowa Board of Educational Examiners license process; strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to network with school personnel; and ability to work independently and collaboratively in both face-to-face and online environments preferred.
