Implementation Manager (Partner’s HealthCare)

Location: Charlestown, MA

Job Summary:

Responsible for collaborating with Partners HealthCare to maximize efficiencies and reduce cost through identification of workflow and labor improvement opportunities as well as device cost and utilization reduction and hospital-physician alignment throughout the health system. The Implementation Manager must possess strong clinical and business acumen, process improvement including facilitation skills, and the ability to make executive presentations, to senior level executives as well as physicians. Should be familiar with process improvement methodologies and emerging movements in health care reform such as value based purchasing and pay for performance.


Member funded custom resource dedicated to facilitating improved implementation of service line specific projects across the system.

Facilitate best practices sharing between Partners and VHA network.

Attend service line team meetings and help facilitate discussions around product selection and value analysis.

Ability to coach project sponsors and team members on critical success factors for implementation and savings sustainability.

Gain intimate knowledge of member contacts and operations to support Partners service line leads.

Assist in moving the service lines from simple to complex initiatives.

Ensure teams identify barriers/risks and elevate to executive sponsors as needed.

Identify and appropriately engage support from stakeholders, i.e., leadership, physicians and staff.

Assist teams in effectively managing meeting mechanics (facilitation, minutes, and agendas).

Mentor teams to make objective data driven decisions using a balanced scorecard.

Effectively engage Novation PE as well as suppliers to partner with member to obtain savings.

Engage custom contracting as needed to customize terms and conditions to best meet the service level needs of Partners.

Is an active member of monthly meetings and quarterly business reviews and supports the Strategic Account Executive with preparation of all materials, trending and opportunity identification.


Bachelor’s degree or degree in other healthcare related field required, Master’s a plus

Must have management, budgetary and cost reduction experience in a healthcare organization.

Must have the ability to effectively facilitate and manage product committee/value analysis teams

Must have project management skills

Must have professional presentation skills

Must be proficient in tools such as Excel, Word and PowerPoint.

Must possess aptitude for critical thinking.

Must exhibit efficient time management skills.

5 + years related experience with strong healthcare industry knowledge and understanding of purchasing or materials management
