Often ISPs are hired to fill a specific need; however, ISPs work as part of a pool of staff and may require changes to their assigned client(s) and/or work location. Under the supervision of Case Managers and direction of the Youth Services Coordinator, the ISP provides active individual and group interventions to assigned clients, with a focus on positive behavior support, to assist clients in meeting the goals outlined in their individualized behavioral health treatment plan.
Work hours vary depending upon location and need; however, ISPs typically have a regular and consistent work schedule. The ISP is accountable to complete daily documentation in a timely and efficient manner as well as ensure that documentation meet standards as specified in regulations and KIT policies and procedures. The ISP is responsible for promoting a safe and positive work environment as well as maintaining a positive on-going relationship with supervisors, co-workers, collaborating staff/professionals, and other agencies within the KIT service delivery system.QUALIFICATIONS(Consideration may be given for equivalent knowledge, skills, abilities, education, and experience)MINIMUMMinimum age of 18.High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED). Experience working with children and/or adolescents.General understanding of, or willingness to learn, basic child development and positive behavior support principles.Demonstrate cross cultural competence.Good oral and written communication skills.Ability to type 25 words per minute.Ability to lift program materials weighing up to 50 pounds.Ability and willingness to be on feet, bend and/or squat frequently.Ability and willingness to work outdoors as required.Current Alaska Driver's License with two or more years driving experience, and clean driving record.Pass state-required background check.PREFERRED21 years of age or older.College courses or training related to child development, psychology, or education.Experience working with Severely Emotionally Disturbed youth.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSProvide direct and active Therapeutic Behavioral Health Services as coordinated by the supervising Case Manager, the client's Directing Clinician, and/or the Youth Services Coordinator to an individual or a group of assigned clients in a variety of settings (including, but not limited to the school, community, and the clients' home).Document active interventions that support client work to address the goals identified on the client's individualized treatment plan (including client behaviors, staff interventions, and client responses) on a daily basis and in a timely and efficient manner.Ensure that all documentation complies with supervisory instructions and standards established by KIT.Maintain attendance arranged by the Case Manager or Youth Services Coordinator.Demonstrate positive therapeutic boundaries with clients and their families.Serve as a positive role model.Attend all required staff meetings and trainings.Promote good relations with coworkers, clients, school staff, and community agencies through professional, respectful, and effective engagement.Provide transportation for clients as needed and in compliance with state/federal laws and KIT policies and procedures.Maintain confidentiality in accordance with KIT and NFC policy.
