.Position Scope: Under direct supervision of the Maintenance Supervisor, repair and maintain the efficiency and safety of all plant electrical circuits and equipment. Operates mechanical tasks as directed. Works varied shifts and/or day, as directed.Position Responsibilities: Duties/ResponsibilitiesMaintain and repair all existing electrical equipment in the production areas at the direction of the Maintenance Supervisor by dismantling and testing equipment, pulling wires through conduit, climbing ladders to get to equipment and climbing over production equipment, as needed. Troubleshoot failed equipment, determine repairs to be made and repair equipment as efficiently as possible.Assemble and install new equipment as directed by Maintenance Supervisor. In conjunction with the plant production management and engineering personnel, assist in planning new installations and ordering parts needed for installations, as directed.Ensure safety of all employees by following all safety rules and procedures, especially the lock out/tag out procedures and general housekeeping.Maintain adequate spare parts for repairing the electrical equipment by taking inventory of spare parts and requisitioning additional part as needed. Coordinate supplies of expensive and/or unique spare parts with the Maintenance Supervisor.Prepare maintenance reports for management as directed.Maintain strict documentation of all Plant electrical circuitry. Inform Engineering of all requested changes to hardware/software circuitry.Administer Preventive Maintenance Program effectively and efficiently.Provide General Lead Electrician support as specified by Supervisor.All other duties as directed by Shipping/ Yard Manager
EducationY High School Degree or GED required.Knowledge/SkillsY Safely operates various shop related equipment.Y Lay out construct additional electrical circuits or deleted circuits. Update any changes to electrical schematics.Y Perform repairs and adjustments on PLC electrical systems.Y Diagnosis electrical problems using various meters and related equipment.Y Read and understand electrical schematics and blue prints.Y Working knowledge of three phase motors and control circuits.Y OSHA safety requirements.Y Strong computer literacy: IBM compatible and Microsoft Office required, SAP enterprise software desired
