Hagemeyer North America is currently seeking an Industrial Electrician to be able to identify, troubleshoot, communicate, and repair any problems that occur on installation projects. The industrial electrician will work for the fire protection division of our company installing numerous types of systems. They are expected to be able to run tests, isolate problems, install or replace new or faulty sections of wiring, run/install conduit of all sizes and type, and perform other tasks as necessary. One of the duties of an industrial electrician is to install electrical components and wire the systems per the drawings. Their job duties depend on the position/project and may include a number of device installation such as Gas Detectors, Smoke Detectors, Horns, Strobe, Pressure Switches, and a number of other devices. This requires the use of many different types of equipment such as conduit benders, pipe threaders, drills, and hand tools such as screwdrivers, pliers, and wire strippers. While completing an installation, the electrician must be sure to meet and follow local, state and national electrical codes and NFPA codes. These codes ensure the safety of the electrician and all employees in the building against electrical fires or any other situation that can arise from unsafe wiring or equipment. After installation is complete, industrial electricians use special equipment to make sure the completed job meets compatibility and safety codes. Some of the equipment they use to check after installations is ohmmeters and volt meters.
- Minimum two years experience as an Industrial Electrician
- Must be able to use of many different types of equipment such as conduit benders, pipe threaders, drills, and hand tools such as screwdrivers, pliers, and wire strippers
- Must be knowledgeable of local, state and national electrical codes and NFPA codes
- Must have good verbal communication skills and strong customer service skills
- Must be able to work in a team environment
