What You'll Do
John Deere Power Systems in Coffeyville, KS is seeking an
to support the assembly operation with primary focus on new business initiatives including strategic planning, line design, staffing, work standards and capital equipment identification and acquisition. In addition, you will have the opportunity to:
Create work tasks and timing as well as prepare work instructions, standards, and operational method sheets.
Perform E-builds and simulations related to new product launches and line balancing.
Develop process improvement techniques and work with continuous improvement teams in support of the operation and production leadership.
Implement mistake proofing techniques and investigate and complete corrective actions to address production and quality deficiencies.
Meet new business strategic objectives while participating on a global cross functional team.
Communicate and present project updates to local and divisional leadership.
What It Takes
We need excellent communicators, who thrive on solving problems and working in a team environment. Ideally, you will have a Bachelors degree in Industrial, Mechanical, or Electrical engineering degree or equivalent experience. In addition, we require:
Previous industrial engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
Demonstrated experience with assembly line layout and design, line rebalancing, setting work methods and standards as well as preparation of work instructions.
Previous continuous improvement experience with emphasis on productivity gains, mistake proofing, and ergonomic enhancements.
A strong candidate will have an advanced degree as well as:
Experience in manufacturing engineering with strong emphasis in continuous improvements, line design and layouts and work standards.
Previous experience working with lean concepts and familiarity with Six Sigma methodology.
