Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:
Demonstrate proficiency in Lean tools and methods
Participates on Steering Committee and help to drive the Lean transformation throughout the organization, primarily by providing technical information and data for Lean improvements
Assist or lead teams to identify opportunities for process improvement and waste elimination
Lead the development of value stream maps and identify team projects in alignment with the business site’s financial and customer expectation
Determine employee involvement & Lean projects based upon projected cost savings and risk analysis
Prepare and present these analyses for the Committee with sets of recommendations and metrics
Verify proposals and calculate cost benefit results
Assist in facilitating rapid improvement teams (kaizen) to develop ideas and plans for improvements to processes
Provide the problem definition and measurement phase of kaizen events
Oversee project implementation and report on results/issues of team efforts with Lean leader
Assist in leading rapid improvement events to problem solve and implement improvement in identified areas. Provide education, coaching, leadership, and guidance to rapid improvement team members
Conduct work measurement analysis and apply (continuous and predetermined) time standards on manufacturing jobs for the development of standard operating expectations, workplace layouts, routings, and engineered cost and labor standards. Confer with supervision on implementation steps and assist with the introduction process
Develop Standard Work/Sequence of Events/Best Practices for various jobs in the facility, and be able to coach/teach others on how to apply and sustain Trinity established work standards
Collect data and perform data mining to summarize and present to employee teams for the identification of improvement opportunities
Continually deepen personal understanding of Lean methodologies and continuous improvement systems, and disseminate that knowledge throughout the organization

Required Skills

Required Experience

3+ years of Lean Manufacturing experience with demonstrated record of process improvements and project management
Bachelors of Science in Industrial Engineering/Manufacturing Engineering (or equivalent experience and responsibility for IE duties
Prefer manufacturing know how and exposure to low volume high cost metal fabrication and welded assembly processes/products
Solid process knowledge of automated machine centers and associated tooling, handling, controls, and maintenance
Excellent computer skills with such software applications as Visio, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Office, Access, Project Management, AutoCAD
Proven leadership record driving change with small teams using good interactive relations
Competent problem solving skills ( with practical experience in project or program management)
Prefer 2+ years of Methods and Work Measurement experience in a heavy manufacturing environment)
Strong analytical capabilities/data mining/descriptive statistics (prefer)
Good communicator (including written/oral/negotiation skills and group presentation/collaboration experience)
Meeting management and fabrication experience
Competent problem solving skills (familiar with DMAIC model and RCA)
Team player attitude with “can do” approach. Willing to nurture others
Ability to adapt and excel in a changing environment
Familiar with business ERP business systems (Preferably with BPCS and MOST)
Lean Certification (preferred)
Prefer proficiency in other continuous improvement methodologies and tools including (Six Sigma, Product Process Understanding, Business Process Redesign Theory of Constraints, Control Planning, Change Management)

Prefer knowledge in the areas of Process Capability, SPC, DOE, and process control systems
