Kapstone Container Corporation is looking for industrial maintenance mechanics with a strong electrical and mechanical background having a minimum of 2 years experience working on oversized, manufacturing machinery repairing both electrical and mechanical problems. Union Shop.At the Fridley location, we manufacture corrugated shipping containers with a strong emphasis on designing and printing POP/POS displays. To be considered, applicant must meet minimum aptitude and placement test scores, be available for any of 3 shifts during career and be available for mandatory overtime and weekends, as needed. The maintenance mechanic must have experience in engineering, air and hydraulics, able to read schematics, wiring diagrams and instruction books, physically able to climb into and around machines in tight quarters. PC knowledge preferred. Boilers license preferred.Check out our website: www.kapstonepaper.com Pay rates are determined by a written aptitude and maintenance placement test (a passing score on a written aptitude test is a prerequisite for placement testing): Journeyman A placement - $24.51/hour Test out as a journeyman Hold a minimum of a Class B MN boilers license Have 3 years of experience in a maintenance department in a like facility Journeyman placement - $22.95/hr Test out as a journeyman Intermediate A placement - $21.22/hour Test out as an Intermediate A Intermediate placement - $20.46/hour Test out as an Intermediate Apprenticeship Program Placed and hired as an Intermediate Mechanic - $20.46/hour Two year program: a structured workbook-study and hands-on program to learn industry machines in preparation for the Journeyman test on the anniversary of your 3rd year. Placed and hired as an Intermediate A Mechanic - $21.22/hour One year program: a structured workbook-study and hands-on program where you would learn industry machines in preparation for the Journeyman test on the anniversary of your 2nd year. The company would supply the study materials for you to study on your own much like a technical school. Once every 6-7 weeks for 1-2 years, as applicable, you would take a written unit test. Field tests are performed on-the-job and must also be passed for you to advance your second and third years, as applicable, of employment.Excellent benefits package, Resumes accepted.
