Qualified candidate must have experience in mechanical, hydraulic and electrical system repairs on automobiles and industrial trucks and related equipment. This includes a general knowledge of and the ability to troubleshoot and repair hydraulic, electrical and water systems.

WORKING CONDITIONS: The individual will perform physically demanding work during his or her shift. The individual may stand over eight hours per day, lift parts weighing up to 50 pounds, and potentially be exposed to dust, hazardous materials, non-hazardous materials, paint and exhaust fumes. Utilization of protective equipment is mandatory. Must be dependable, self-motivated, able to work independently and as a team member.

Qualification s, duties and essential functions:

  • Read and understand repair orders and perform work on Automobiles. Light, Medium, and Heavy trucks as outlined with efficiency and accuracy.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude. Understands technical issues and can use previous experiences to solve technical problems. Troubleshoot components to determine malfunction and plan work procedures to properly repair with minimum supervision. Must be able to diagnose repair and rebuild products, remove and reinstall these products with in acceptable standard repair hours. Proficient knowledge of truck components. Ability to change components on engines, transmissions, air or hydraulic brakes, electrical and air systems, air conditioning, suspensions, axles and steering.
  • Practiced documentation skills. Applicant will be capable of inputting complete written reports on jobs including: labor, parts, cause and corrections, repair stories, travel details, etc. Utilizes computer system to accurately create, track and complete work order repairs including the tracking of time (labor hours), parts used, work completed and locate technical information on vendor web sites.
  • Communicate effectively in a variety of settings. Communicates with internal customers (i.e. other mechanics, drivers, technicians and other company employees) on such things as stances, wait times, reasons for repair decisions and status updates. Advise Maintenance Manager or supervisor if additional work is needed or if work outlined is not necessary.
  • Pays attention to detail.
  • Approaches work in a meticulous and thorough manner.
  • Has excellent attendance and completes quality work on time.
  • Conscientiously and methodically approaches work. Sees tasks through to completion.
  • Has a minimum of 3 year of relevant experience in the industry.
  • Possesses a valid State Drivers license, preferably with a Class A CDL
  • Secure needed parts in order to make necessary repairs when needed.
  • Attend and complete required technical schools and training sessions in order to increase and update professional knowledge
  • A Mechanic is required to furnish a complete set of hand tools (The Maintenance Manager will cover other required tools.) Report any missing or damaged tools to the Maintenance Manager.
  • Have a working knowledge of diesel and automotive products.
  • Operate all equipment in shop and mobile service as required. When necessary, performs duties from service truck. Must be willing to travel to customer locations and perform repairs in the field.
  • Basic welding skills a plus.
  • Must become an Annual Vehicle Inspector (only after associate meets DOT requirements)
  • Clean up work area and tools between job assignments.
  • Test drive repaired trucks to verify repairs completed
  • Performing all duties in a safe manner.
  • Insure that customer's vehicle is kept as clean as possible
  • Generate WO’s as needed to keep workflow progressing.
  • Utilizes forklift and company vehicles to unload, stock, and pick up parts at local vendors, dealers/suppliers and stages Scheduled Maintenance (SMs).
  • Steam cleans and washes wide range of parts and equipment
  • Perform other duties as needed.
