Minimum of Six Months Experience Required
The Parent Infant Program Infant Development Assistant works as a child development assistant with infants and young children who have, or are at risk for, developmental problems and their parents, in home, center and community-based settings. The Developmental Assistant assists the multidisciplinary PIP program staff in preparation and carry-through of program activities that provide developmental intervention for children and developmental guidance and support for parents.
High school graduate or equivalent. AA or Bachelor’s degree in child development or related field preferred.
Six months recent experience working with disabled/at risk infants and young children and their families required.
Car and valid California Driver’s license. Child Development (normal and atypical) Multidisciplinary/transdisciplinary teamwork Parent-Child interaction. Work with ethnically and culturally diverse families. Parent education and support. Developmental disabilities.
Significant interpersonal skills with co-workers and with client families in varied setting including center, client’s homes and in the community. Spanish speaking highly preferred. Job location is in South Hayward.
