  • The Infection Control Officer, under the clinical direction of the Chairman of the Infection Control Committee and the VP Nursing Services, is responsible for the Hospital-wide Infection Control Program. The Infection Control Officer acts as the Hospital liaison for the Infection Control Committee and has a sentinel role in prevention and control of infections hospital-wide. Creates and maintains a safe, therapeutic environment that respects the rights of all patients and provides treatment interventions appropriate for the age, developmental status, culture, spiritual beliefs and sexual orientation of each patient.

    Requirements
    • Current Registered Nurse licensure in the State of Illinois. Bachelor's preferred
    • Required training in Infection Control, epidemiology and statistics documented by certificates from APIC training course.
    • Five or more years' clinical experience and at least one to two years of experience in Infection Control.
    • Recommended seeking credentialing by CBIC as "CIC".
